How do we know what is happening in the world? We read the news, watch the telly..so we trust what is packaged and presented to be a full and accurate picture of global events. Why? We are conditioned to, but online a different view is available. One not controlled by the government or corporations. This is an invitation and a challenge – are you able to explore and open your mind to alternate views and media? Are you prepared to believe that as a society we are brainwashed, dumbed down and controlled? Is it even a possibility? Is it madness, absurdity, preposterous? Why?

I have tried to approach this material and the sources examined with an open mind, with a degree of skepticism but I must confess that now I am more prone to be skeptical of what I am told by the news! Have I been brainwashed? Has my head been filled with junk by loons and anarchists and conspiracy theorists? Why? Or was it previously filled with junk by the loons and greedy psychopaths of big business and politics?

Admittedly, not all that I found was convincing, some seemed to push me too far, but over time I found myself more and more accepting of possibilities and agendas that would not be reported in our media. Is this a personality defect or is there actually more to what is going on in the world than meets the eye? There are certainly some extremely credible and well-researched video documentaries on various industries, on corruption and government lies and deceptions.

The aim of this blog is not to persuade the reader one way or the other, I prefer to think of it as a challenging exploration, as an exercise in self-examination. What are my beliefs, why do I find some theories absurd, and what the hell do I do with the possible interpretations of world events? If, like me you are persuaded to open your eyes and wake up to certain hard realities about our age, then what the hell do you do about it?
